Rob Longmore

HR Director – Leek Building Society

Rob’s responsibility at Leek Building Society is the Society’s People Agenda, Marketing and Facilities. Having worked in a number of roles across the branches, mortgages and risk since he joined, Rob provides a breadth of experience in the financial services sector. This has uniquely placed him in a position to support the development of the society’s culture and staff engagement, focusing on making Leek Building Society an even better place to work.

Lizzie is a Chartered CIPD member with HR experience across the private, public and charitable sectors in her career. Lizzie holds responsibility for developing and implementing the Society’s people strategies and leading the HR team.

Kelly is committed to changing the way we deliver HR and Learning for people and works with HR and L&D teams to help them do things differently, challenge the status quo, and deliver solutions that are right for the organisations.

She coaches HR professionals on a one-to-one and group basis and delivers in-house workshops with a difference to help change the face of HR.

Laura Knight

Business Development Manager – Staffordshire University

Laura is a Business Development Manager within the Business Engagement team at Staffordshire University. She supports businesses, identifying training needs and academic pathways as part of Staffordshire University’s CPD offer, which covers both micro-credentials and short courses.

Back at the office, she works closely with the academic team to identify new courses and business opportunities. She also manages the Creative Lab, a fantastic design-led facility that supports businesses and start-ups with product creation, service development and business growth. As part of her wider role, she looks at innovation needs with her accounts and can offer support with Innovate UK bids.

She has a strong education and account management background, having worked in both FE and HE since 2007, covering areas that have included apprenticeships and recruitment. Her passion is to support people and organisations by helping them meet their goals.

Ryan Cheyne

Interim Chief People Officer – Motorpoint Plc

Ryan has over 25 years’ experience in Senior HR Leadership roles, working for national companies such as Argos, the Arcadia Group Ltd and Booking.com. During his time as People Director for Pets at Home the team grew from circa 2,000 to 10,000 employees and achieved the ‘Best Big Company to Work For’ by Best Companies.

More recently, Ryan joined Motorpoint PLC, the UK’s leading used car retailer who have also appeared on the Best Companies list for 7 years running. His current role is focused on helping the business to continue their focus on being a truly amazing place to work and supporting their digital transformation journey.

Alexandra Bairstow

Employer Brand/Recruitment Marketing Manager – Jaguar Land Rover

Alex is an employer brand expert and has worked (both in–house and as a consultant) with some well-known household brands such as Boots UK and Ladbrokes Coral. Her current role is that of Employer Brand Manager at Jaguar Land Rover and is focused on helping the business further develop their internal brand.
