Alice Charity

Alice Charity support vulnerable and disadvantaged families in Stoke and Newcastle with practical and emotional support.

The charity supports families to develop their resilience, to thrive not just survive.

The charity has a food bank, 9 parent and toddler groups, family support, Bump and Beyond providing baby equipment and emotional support as well as projects to support with Home Essentials and Little Kindnesses which includes thigs like school uniforms, bus fares and other necessities.

A Child of Mine

A Child of Mine provides emotional support to bereaved parents and families who have lost a child of any age and under any circumstance helping them to find hope for the future. Through our work we reduce isolation and improve emotional wellbeing.

Our work includes, 121 emotional support, family bereavement helpline, 7 support groups, 2 support groups for bereaved siblings, annual memorial services, national awareness day and education for healthcare professionals improving future care.

North Staffs Mind has over 40 years’ experience of supporting mental health in the local community.

Our services include supporting children and young people, adults and offering supported housing.

We have an experienced training team who deliver training packages to statutory and private companies.

North Staffs Mind works collaboratively with other organisations and the local community to provide a client led service which is truly inclusive.

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank

We believe that no one should face going hungry, and provide 3-day emergency food parcels to people in crisis.

Our 16 volunteer church centres, open rotating across 5 days a week, in Stoke-on-Trent and outlying areas.

We signpost our guests to Money Matters and other local charities and organisations for advice.

Nearly 40% of those we help feed are children and over a third of those we help are working.

The Dove Service

The Dove Service provide confidential specialist counselling and support to those affected by bereavement, significant loss and/ or life-changing illness.

Alongside our counselling provision we offer the following professional services:

  • EAP Contracts.
  • Workplace Debriefings.
  • Awareness Raising and Education Sessions in topics related to Workplace Wellbeing and Grief, including writing affective Bereavement Policies.
  • Professional talk time sessions, including how Line Managers can best provide support when someone in the workplace is impacted by bereavement.
